Marriage Proposal
Today, Max told me he wanted to marry me. My heart melted. I tried to respond appropriately..."I'm already married to Daddy, but you can live with us as long as you want and I'll love you forever."
I recently told him he would someday move out and find a significant other to love and marry someday and he cried because he didn't want to leave me (us). He was slightly traumatized...it was sooooo soooo sweet.
He has been so affectionate with his words of late. I had been saying to him "I love you too much to argue with you" as a way of ending a whining, pleading, begging session for whatever he may want in the moment...usually milk...sounds crazy to deny a guy milk, but this guy loves his milk and would drink a gallon a day if we let him. I digress...as I normally do...back to the topic...
Max now says to me, "I love you too much, Mommy" and hugs me tight. Last night he asked if we could talk about how much we loved one another...as a ploy to stay up longer, but it was still a sweet request. Warms the cockles...whatever those are!
Clarification: Our conversations have a flow and the announcements I make to him are prompted by some question he has and me, as his mother, trying to respond in the most appropriate way...I don't try to traumatize the guy by saying he has to move out tomorrow...just in case anyone reading this may be confused :-)
