Camping Trip...
in our back yard!
We had a great time...Mark and I did not like sleeping in the tent. Max insisted on sleeping with us on a blow up mattress and the guy attaches to you like glue and whoever moves, moved everyone else. Not much sleep for the adults, but Max slept through it all. We cooked our dinner on the campfire: hot dogs, cuban style (thanks, Paula!) corn on the cob, roasted sweet potatoes and carrots.
Ånd then s'mores.
We went to bed around 10:30 pm, we miscalculated our drinking and ended up with several bathroom trips in the middle of the night...not Max, the adults! Then the sprinklers came on around 5 am for a good hour...so loud hitting the tent at intervals as the system thoroughly sprinkled our lawn and our tent. We did not get wet, but it was soooo loud! Then, of course, Max popped up before 7 am and we cooked breakfast over the fire pit.
Scrambled eggs, which weren't so good, an egg in the middle of toast, which was quite tasty, toast, hot chocolate and hot tea...check out the cute tea pot. Mark purchased that for me on one of his trips to Asia and it came in handy this week-end!
I must say, my food was pretty good for cooking on a campfire and not being much of a cook in the first place! And, best of all, no burns!
Thank goodness it rained on Saturday afternoon so we didn't have to sleep in the tent again. But, so happy Max had a great time.
