Childproof?

We had our MI home childproofed in November as it is full of steep staircases with beautiful railings that are perfect for climbing. Check out Max laughing at the "childproof" home.

Somehow, the gate was open, he stepped on the gate and it swung under the protective guards that prevent the gate from swinging out this way (it is only supposed to swing in toward you, not out against the stairs). He called out, "MOMMA!". He was a bit scared as he didn't know how to get the gate to swing back so he could reach safety. In my protective momma state, I decided to take a picture instead of saving him as quickly as I should have. But, you'll be happy to hear he was saved and unharmed.
