I Am Here

The week-end of May 8, 2009 was a big week-end for Max. He started with a very fun train ride on the Acela Express from NYC to Washington, DC with a stop-over in Philly to pick up Daddy. Daddy had a meeting in Philly and took the train earlier in the day and we met him in Philly on our way to DC. Very fun as Max loves his train rides! When Daddy arrived on board (with flowers for Mommy...cue "awwww" for the sweet gesture) Max RAN down the very long aisle screaming "DADDY!!!!" The whole train car (and it was packed...every seat taken) was staring and almost everyone was laughing or nodding with nice thoughts and karma aimed at us...it definitely signaled a great week-end start for us!

We traveled to DC for a close friend's surprise birthday party. Max was jazzed as he was going to see one of his favorite friends, Ava, and her sister Macie AND get to stay the night with them. My friend was surprised to see us and Max played with a gaggle of kids his age and was in heaven. He had a blast.

The next morning we left our friends in DC and rented a car to drive back to NYC with a stopover at Sesame Place in PA. Fun, fun, fun. I'll put a separate post for the Sesame Street adventure. After Sesame Place we decided to stop in New Hope, Pennsylvania for dinner. This was quite a gamble after 36 hours of non-stop action for Max...but we were blessed with an angelic, amazingly behaved toddler for a wonderful meal in stunning weather.

As we were waiting for dinner we asked Max a few questions...check out his answers to "where are we, Max?". And his "hmmm" with the finger tap on his face when asked what he ordered for dinner...hilarious guy! Such a personality. He is definitely his father's son!!!

P.S. Despite the appearance of Max drinking a Long Island Ice Tea...it was simply a fancy, non-alcoholic drink.
