Kiddie Club...the Kidville of MI

In NYC the offerings for toddlers are limitless in terms of indoor and outdoor play options, classes, preschools, museums, zoos, etc., etc. Max used to live very close to and attend a place called Kidville, which is a place for children 3 months to 5 years old where there are a multitude of class offerings, preschool, a cafe, a salon (for kid hair cuts) and a boutique, there were also indoor and outdoor open play space times to bring your kid to run around willy nilly on some great play gear with a bunch of other kids and burn off some energy.

Since we left NYC and are spending the summer in MI I have been trying to find toddler friendly classes and playspace options...the choices here seem to be a bit limited...but I suspect I'm only hitting the tip of the iceberg given the billion dollar industry of the 0-5 year old set.

Anyhoo...the house we live in right now in MI doesn't have a backyard...it is on wetlands...plenty of space and beautiful grounds, but our outside options at home are the driveway or the lake...not terrible options to be certain, but sometimes I want him to run around without having to worry about him running into a busy road or into a lake!

In MI, I have found an indoor playspace called Kiddie Club in Rochester Hills. They are a child care center, full preschool, summer camps, drop-off childcare (I never found this in NYC!) and also offer day passes to their really large and fun-filled indoor playspace. They also have a cafe and wireless inet access for parents...very cool!

Max and his cousin TJ visited a few weeks ago on a colder/drearier day. One of the options at Kiddie Club...the country club for kids...is a dress up area. TJ dressed up as a race car driver, a giraffe, Mickey Mouse, Batman and Spiderman. Max wasn't as into dressing up as TJ, but we did get him into a race car driver outfit and Mickey Mouse. Fun for sure!!!
