New York...We Miss You!

Max, Mark and I returned to NYC after having left our city on May 27. Almost three months have passed, boy, how time flies! We stayed on the Upper West Side near our old pad and enjoyed our favorites places and activities. Including Big Nick's for Pizza and Black Wine (red wine for Mark and I and grape juice for Max), Crumbs cupcakes (but Mark ate mine!), Central Park, Kidville, Museum of Natural History, Kefi (greek restaurant...very yummy) and the Reebok Sports Club. We also took the NJ Transit Train on Wednesday and headed to the Jersey Shore one day to spend with my friend Paula at her new house...complete with sparkling pool. Unfortunately with hurricane Bill offshore we didn't head to the beach as we didn't want to risk any riptides. On Friday, we had lunch on a 143 foot yacht. Big week for Max!

In addition to Paula, Max met up with some more friends: Barbara, his babysitter, Dr. Rosenberg his pediatrician, Ursula his second cousin and Joseph at Reebok For Kids Only childcare program. Max was incredibly happy to announce, "Joseph had to tell my friend to listen and keep your hands to yourself". I asked Max if Joseph had to tell Max to keep his hands to himself and listen and he proudly said "no, I listened and no hitting or pushing". YEAH!!!

Max was ecstatic to see Barbara and we had dinner with her Tuesday night and then spent Thursday morning in her new neighborhood of Chelsea seeing the newly opened Highline Park and a waterpark on the Hudson River.

On Tuesday night Max witnessed his first car accident. We were crossing Broadway at 77th Street and were in the median looking at the gargoyles on the building above Big Nick's and all of the sudden...CRASH! A Mercedes 500 SL wasn't looking and pulled into oncoming traffic and a cab crashed into her and fenders went flying. Luckily no one was hurt, but Max was pretty disturbed by the whole event. He still tells me, "Momma, I'm sad about the lady who didn't pay attention". We told him the lady wasn't paying attention and that is how accidents happen.

Here are a few very grainy photos of Max at Big Nick's drinking his black wine (grape juice in a wine glass) and staring at the front door waiting for his surprise visitor...Barbara! Barbara came with balloons and you can only imagine how ecstatic he was to see Barbara AND balloons...so adorable!

I'll post more photos and details about our activities in separate posts. I can't believe how much we packed into this 4 day trip. It was fabulous!
