Grounded the Boat
On August 27, I decided to take my Mom and Max on a boat ride. We were prepping to leave the house and I thought it might be the last time my Mom might get out on the lake with us. Also, this would be only the 2nd time this summer I took the boat out by myself. The water level was really low.
We had a nice boat ride around the lake on a beautiful summer day. As I was rounding Apple Island (on Orchard Lake) on our way home, I didn't realize how low the water level was around the island (should have, I know) and I ran aground about 20 feet or so from shore. At the time I did not understand the damage, but evidently, rocks were sucked in and required the boat to be taken in for fixing...very bad usage rate for me and expensive error on my part!
Luckily, my very good friends John and Johhny Tracy were fishing on the lake and were able to tow us in with minimum effort...thank goodness.
