Toy Buying List
Max and I are out shopping a bit. I try my hardest to resist the pleas of my only child and his immense desire to acquire toys. I try and many, many times I am successful in walking out of the store with nary a toy.
On this trip in October 2010 with Daddy, Mommy and Max, we were triumphant! Triumphant sounds like such a big word for this situation, but I feel like it is a battle in WHATEVER store we enter so I do feel great pleasure at having given reasonable explanations and avoided too much whining and no tantrums. I am also pleased to report, he doesn't have tantrums in stores over not getting a toy, lots of whining and negotiating, but few tantrums. I digress. We went to Sam's Club, I forgot for what, but Max found the toy aisle and posed for photos with toys he wanted to put on his toy buying list. That is what we have resorted to...we have created a photo montage of toys Max would like. At this point, I think he thinks he is going to get all of them. He also doesn't like to call it a Christmas List as his thinking in October was that X-mas was waaaaay to far away for him to think he wouldn't get these toys until December, so the name Toy Buying List. I digress again. The nuances of the story, that make it funny, are hard to capture in words...at least for me.
We have this toy buying photo list as an album on our iPhoto application and Max can view his toys with regularity. Also, on this trip, we let the guy out of the house on a lazy Saturday in his pajamas...he looked really cute!
One other point...this guy HATES pictures to be taken of him. I mean hates, hates, hates. But, with the toys on his toy buying list, he will pose for the photos...interesting~~~~!!!!
