Grandpa Honey - I Miss You!

Grandpa Honey went to heaven on June 26, 2009 at 1:24 pm. We miss him already.

One of my Pop's nicknames was "Sonny". Max heard my Mom call my Dad "Sonny" last year and decided it was "Honey"...since that day he has been Grandpa Honey to Max...and me!

A few photos of Max and his Grandpa Honey..."I luv you Grandpa Honey!"
  • Max, Grandma and Grandpa Honey 2 weeks old in NYC
  • Max, Grandma and Grandpa Honey 6 months old in MI
  • Max and family...check out Grandma and Grandpa Honey cracking up in the background of Max's 2 year birthday party in June 2008 in MI
  • Pop (aka Grandpa Honey) at his 50th Wedding Anniversary Party in December 08 in MI

Max took at nap on Friday, June 26 and right after he fell asleep I took a call from my mom to meet her at the hospital, which I did. When Max woke up he was crying saying he had a bad dream that Momma was gone. After prompting from Auntie Vickie and without being told where I was he said "Momma's gone to see Grandpa Honey"...my Mom thinks Pop was saying goodbye to Max on his way to heaven. Max did wake up around the same time of his passing...twilight zone...

(humor makes me feel better after a rough few days...I do believe Pop said goodbye to Max, but it is a bit freaky to think my kid can "see people")

Also...PLEASE...click on "View/Sign Guestbook" and leave a short note. I'd like to print the guestbook for my mom and the more signatures, stories and condolences the better. You can also add a photo.

Oh Mary, I'm so sorry! I have heard you talk about your Pop/Grandpa Honey several times. I'm sorry to hear that he passed away. What a sweet story about Max's dream. How do you tell him about Grandpa Honey being gone? I know everyone has to do that with their children at some point, but I haven't had to do that and don't look forward to it. I know you explain they went to heaven & such, but you wonder how little ones can comprehend that. Anyway, I'll keep your mom, you and your family in my thoughts during this tough time!
