Max's First Night Camping

On August 11, Max and I met my sister and family on Lake Michigan for Max's first camping trip, complete with tents. I clarify the tent part about the trip as Mark's idea of camping is a budget hotel--Mark did not come on this trip--he is NOT a camper. The trip was AWESOME! To start off, when we arrived my sister and family had set up our tent and dinner was just about ready, so we rolled up ready to go. We had a five person tent all to ourselves, along with a blow up mattress and I brought Max's pillow and blanket to ensure he was comfortable. The worst part about camping is setting up the camp and then taking it down...they handled it all! And, my sister is a great cook and cooked every meal and she doesn't do plain meals, these were 3 course meals with all the trimmin's. Max ate like a king!

We ate dinner and then headed to the water to watch the sunset. The photos included here are his first night camping. In another post, I'll share the beach photos from our camping trip which were amazing!

I have to mention that Max and I were late leaving for our camping trip as I was scouring the house looking for his monkey. He sleeps with his monkey and I could not find it. I finally had to leave without it and hope that it didn't lead to disaster. I brought a stuffed Elmo replacement and it worked like a charm. He asked for his monkey, but ended up sleeping very nicely with Elmo...check out Elmo's eyes peeking out of the covers!

In another of the photos you'll see us having a hot dog snack at 10 pm ish after our sunset beach excursion.
